The Master of Science in Project Management degree is a specialized program designed to provide professionals with skills in management, communication, and leadership needed to manage complex projects and teams in achieving strategic organizational goals. The curriculum emphasizes strategies for maximizing and coordinating human and operational resources, budgeting, scheduling, and scope management.
Project Managers plan and execute diverse projects within a wide variety of corporations and industries, including information technology, research and development, engineering, construction, telecommunications, health care services, manufacturing, educational services, and more.
Unique Preparation for the PMP® Exam
All MS Project Management courses and seminars are approved as Professional Development Units for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification. Successfully earning the PMP® designation is a highly recognized international credential, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI®), the world's leading association for the project management profession.
Objectives
Graduates of the Master of Science in Project Management program are expected to:
- Organize project resources effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrate an integrated understanding of projects, programs, and portfolio management disciplines.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and develop realistic strategies.
- Display a practical exhibition and explanation regarding analytical, communicative, and technical skills related to Project Management Triple constraint.
- Leverage sociocultural factors that promote effective management of people, procedures, or processes.
- Apply accountability and civil judgment regarding solutions and proposals relevant to organizations and locations.
- Manage ethical issues that affect the project, organization, and stakeholders.
- Evaluate decisions and actions that provide adverse risk, continuous growth, and improvement.
Degree Requirements
Students must complete 30 graduate credits in the program to complete the Master of Science in Project Management degree. Each student is required to complete 10 courses. Only 6 hours of previous applicable graduate coursework (grade of B or higher) can be transferred into the program. A total of 24 hours must be taken at Lewis University. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for graduation.
