Bachelor’s to Master of Science in Data Science / Fast Track Program
The Bachelor’s to Data Science Master’s Fast Track Program option allows qualified undergraduates to complete the graduate Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program in just one year rather than 18 months to two years. Students from all majors can apply, although some majors may need to complete some or all of the foundation courses. The student can take up to 12 graduate credit hours as an undergraduate which will count toward the Master’s program, nine of which can also count towards the undergraduate degree. Once a student has reached senior status by completing at least 90 credit hours, has completed the following courses:
Code | Title | Hours |
---|---|---|
DATA 20000 | Introduction to Data Science | 3 |
CPSC 21000 | Programming Fundamentals | 3 |
DATA 23500 | Programming for Data Analysis | 3 |
MATH 22000 | Applied Probability and Statistics | 3 |
and has achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, they may be considered for entry into the Fast Track program. To be considered, the student must complete the Fast Track application. If the student earns a "B" or better in a graduate course they take as part of the Fast Track program, the course will count towards their MSDS requirements.
