Five one-credit hour Practicums are required of all majors in the Theatre major. Besides the required Practicums, which include THTR 41000 Props Practicum, THTR 41400 Sound Practicum, THTR 41600 Stage Management Practicum, THTR 42700 Career Preparation Practicum, majors must choose one additional Practicum. Students may take more than the required number. Additional Practicums may be chosen from THTR 38400 Practicum to THTR 42500 Dramaturgy Practicum. Each Practicum is arranged with an individualinstructor and is designed to give the student practical experience in different areas of theatre. The Practicums consist of work on one of the five mainstage productions offered by the department each year. Consent of the show's director or the department chair must be acquired before registering for these Practicums.
Theatre majors must maintain an up-to-date portfolio of all class and production experience.
Career Preparation Practicum must be taken the semester before the final semester.
